Where there is a WILL...
...there is a way. I got to take some photos of a great clinic last Saturday. I was totally in awe of this program!!! Buddy Up Tennis is directed by my close friend Beth Gibson and takes place every Saturday morning at Wickertree Tennis and Fitness Club. Her son, Will, is a perfect example of how this tennis program can really benefit children and young adults with Down Syndrome. Will really knows how “to go for it” with all of his passion! I watched him with the tennis racket and I was inspired by his strength and perseverance. Every one of the participants from young children to young adults were really thriving on the court. The many volunteers age 11 and up were awesome in keeping everyone engaged in the different activities meant to build the kids’ skills. Keegan, Will’s older brother, is outstanding with guiding all of the children during this exercise. He really puts his heart into helping all the kids. Will is so lucky to have him guiding and supporting him on a daily basis. It is so obvious that Beth and Rick have really given Will the best opportunity to become a strong participant in life. The community is lucky to have them giving the same effort to this wonderful clinic that is open to anyone who would like to join. It is inspiring to know that this clinic was started because two instructors, Doug Di Rosario and Stephanie Anderson took an interest in teaching Will tennis when he accompanied Beth to one of her practices. Together, they all coined the term, “where there’s a WILL there’s a way”. Will’s tennis lessons became what is now a clinic called Buddy Up Tennis...
